The whole game is free: every city, endless mode, the daily puzzle, leaderboards. Ads keep it that way — without drowning you. The first 3 levels are completely ad-free, after that a short interstitial appears at most once every three levels, and never on the Daily Puzzle. Rewarded ads are entirely your choice: watch one for a hint or coins, or never touch them.
If you'd rather have none, a single one-time purchase removes them for good. Not a subscription — you pay once and that's it. It's tied to your Apple account and comes back on a new phone with “Restore purchases”.
